Sunderland dentist launches new app
A Sunderland dentist has launched a new iPhone app for patients.
Olivers Dental Studio has become the first dental practice in the area to create an app for patients. The app is available from the iTunes store and via the Olivers website.
The app enables patients to read news articles, research treatment packages and read patient testimonials, including one from the England football team’s newest recruit, Jordan Henderson. There is also an interactive tool which enables patients to ask Dr Oliver questions; patients can also send in pictures of their smiles so that Dr Oliver can offer advice and recommend treatments.
Michael Oliver said that feedback from patients has been very positive and many are taking the time to use the app and learn more about oral health and the surgery. The practice is the only one north of the Watford Gap to use an iPhone app. The app makes it easier for patients to get involved in oral health, facilitates communication between dental professionals and patients and contributes to greener, more environmentally friendly living. Dr Oliver said he has already received a great deal of interest from other businesses and dental practices.
Olivers has already won an award for innovation; just last month, the practice won the first ever Marketing Award at the Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Awards 2010, which was held at the Stadium of Light.
