A dentist from Stroud has taken one for the team to raise money for Children in Need.

Manny Khan, from Archway Dental Practice on London Road, has his legs waxed, in aid of this year’s campaign.

Manny agreed to let his colleagues wax his legs last week in order to support the cause. The brave venture raised more than £200 for charity and a further £220 was raised by a cake sale and dentist Bart Finley’s efforts, which involved eating a giant doughnut filled with cream without using his hands.

Practice manager, Lyn Lloyd, said that the team is delighted with the money and wishes to thank all the patients for their kind donations. The practice will continue to raise money by selling cakes until Children in Need day on November 18th. Children will also be invited to take part in a colouring competition and three lucky winners will receive a prize.

BBC Children in Need is an annual event, which is designed to raise millions of pounds for children living in poverty in the UK and abroad. Every year, schools, businesses and communities join together to raise money and celebrities host a marathon television show to encourage people to donate to the good cause.
