Sample News Big

Representatives from a charity based in Stroud, Gloucestershire, are celebrating after scooping a national award. BrushUpUK has been named Oral Health Promoter of the Year at the 2016 Dentistry Awards.

The charity offers free educational oral health programmes that encourage people who are unable to access dental health education to adopt positive oral health habits. Qualified dental professionals provide tailor-made presentations that offer audio, visual and sensory prompts to groups missing out on conventional educational resources. The project targets those living in care homes, the elderly, young carers, adults and children with special needs and people undergoing palliative care.

The charity already works with a network of dental practices across the South West and is hoping to expand in the future.

Representatives from the charity were overwhelmed with the award and thanked all the professionals who work on the project for their hard work and commitment to improving oral health education in Stroud and the surrounding area.
