Specialist Dentist Takes the Reins at Chippenham Dental Practice
A well-respected dental specialist has taken over a dental practice in Chippenham. Specialist periodontist Dr Amir Savage has taken control of the reins at London Road Dental Practice.
Dr Savage qualified from Edinburgh University before undertaking speciality studies at London’s prestigious Eastman Dental Institute. He has advanced qualifications in Periodontology and dental implant treatment.
One of the first things Dr Savage wants to do is update the practice in order to make way for expansion. He is hoping to increase the range of services beyond traditional family dentistry and make use of his training in Periodontology and the treatment of advanced gum disease. He is also hoping to maximise the potential of dental implants, a treatment that is becoming increasingly popular year on year.
When the opportunity to take control of the practice became available, Dr Savage didn’t think twice. He admires the strong commitment to oral disease prevention and could see opportunities for growth and development. The practice already takes referrals for gum disease treatment from local surgeries and this is an area Dr Savage is keen to focus on and develop in the coming years.
The move was made possible by a business loan from the Royal Bank of Scotland. Relationship manager Paul Barnes said it was a pleasure to work with Dr Savage, who he described as a ‘people person’.
The practice currently employs a team of six dentists, four dental nurses, three dental hygienists and reception staff.
