Special Care Dentistry Association to meet in Chicago

The Special Care Dentistry Association is hosting its 22nd annual conference in Chicago this year.

The meeting, titled ‘Special Needs in Challenging Times: Clinically-Focused Education to Treat the Patient with Complex Needs’ takes place from March 26 to 28 March 2010 at the Swissôtel.

Author, Wadell Blackwell, Arizona State University’s director of Multicultural Student Affairs, will be giving his presentation ‘The Power of Words’ to teach attendees to use the right words in difficult situations.

He will be joined by editor of The Journal of the American Dental Association Dr Michael Glick, who is also dean of Buffalo’s School of Dental Medicine and has been lined-up to present the lecture ‘Assessment of the Medically Complex Dental Patient’.

Finally, Dr Paul Farsai, an associate professor with Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, will be taking attendees through ‘What Works in Dentistry for Older Adults and Individuals with Special Needs’.
