A dental hygienist from Southport is celebrating after being nominated for a national award.

Gemma Langford, a dental hygienist at 10 Dental, which is located on Scarisbrick New Road, has been short-listed for the Dental Hygienist of the Year Award at the Dental Awards. Gemma has beaten off competition from many other entrants and is delighted to have reached the final.

Gemma qualified from the University of Liverpool and has been working at 10 Dental for five years. In order to apply for the award, she had to show judges how she makes a difference to patients, how she works with her team members and how her dedication and commitment to dentistry improve the oral health of her patients.

Gemma will find out later this month if she has been successful; the judging panel is currently making the decision and the awards ceremony will take place at the Lancaster London Hotel on the 19th April. This will be the 15th annual awards ceremony.

Gemma said that she is very proud of her achievements in reaching the final of the category and said she was delighted to be representing 10 Dental and Southport.
