Somerton Dentists Don Onesies To Raise Money For Dentaid

A team of dentists and nurses crawled out of bed still wearing their pyjamas to treat patients on the 4th July. The team from Apex Dental Centre went to work in onesies to raise money for the dental charity, Dentaid.

Members of staff wore a range of prints and designs, from stars and hearts and animal prints, to celebrate a day of fundraising for Dentaid, a charity, which supports dental projects in poor countries all over the world.

Patients at the practice joined in the fun and supported the cause, dropping money into collection boxes and pledging donations via the Justgiving website.

Practice manager, Vanessa Dalgarno, who was dressed as a poodle for the day, said that some of the patients could have been a little concerned about being treated by a dentist dressed in a giraffe print onesie, but everyone got involved and the day was great fun. She added that most of the patients are aware that the team is a little bid mad, so nothing really surprises them.

The entire team got behind the day and everyone came to work wearing an all-in-one. All the money raised from onesie day will be donated to Dentaid to help people who have very limited access to even the most basic dental care in developing countries around the world.
