Somerton Dental Team is Pretty in Pink for Breast Cancer Charity

A dental team from Somerton swapped their uniforms for pink clothing on Friday to support Breast Cancer Care.

Staff members from Apex Dental Surgery arrived at work wearing pink items of clothing on Friday morning in aid of an initiative run by Breast Cancer Care. Pink Fridays are designed to raise awareness of breast cancer and encourage people to dress up to support and raise money for the cause. As well as paying to dress up, the team also put out collections boxes around the surgery and many of the patients gave generously.

Lorna Boeg said that the event was a great success and the patients and staff got behind the day and entered into the spirit of things. Nurses, reception staff, hygienists and dentists all dressed up in various shades of pink, and patients donated throughout the day. The practice frequently supports good causes with charity events, raffles and fundraising activities, and Lorna said it was great that so many people gave to Breast Cancer Care. The day was fun, but more importantly, it also raised money for a really good cause that supports thousands of women and their families across the UK.
