Sample News Big

A dental practice in Skegness is hosting an open day for local children; the aim of the event is to raise awareness of the importance of good oral hygiene and encourage youngsters to adopt a good oral hygiene routine from an early age.

The team at Algitha Road Dental Practice are hosting a special dental day on the 3rd August to teach children about oral hygiene and encourage them to brush their teeth twice a day.

Recent figures suggest that 23 percent of the UK population only brushes their teeth once a day and 18 percent of people do not bother to brush their teeth at all; in light of this news, the Algitha Road team is determined to spread the message about the importance of regular brushing.

Krzysztof Kurczewski, dentist at the practice, said that the team decide to host the dental event to try and make people aware of the importance of good oral hygiene. The dental team is also trying to comfort patients and assure them that going to the dentist is not too scary in light of statistics from a recent Oasis Dental survey, which revealed that around 60 percent of men and 70 percent of women suffer from dental anxiety.

During the day, a host of activities will be taking place; children will be invited to attend fun, interactive education sessions, as well as taking part in games and activities such as colouring and face painting. There will also be a raffle with the chance to win a new Sonicare electric toothbrush, toys and prizes for adults, including a beauty voucher.

Anyone who is interested in going to the event is encouraged to contact the practice directly.
