A health centre in Sioux is hosting a one-off event, which will provide children with free screenings and discounted dental examinations.

The Greater Sioux Community Health Center is inviting local children to attend the event on the 18th August; dental screenings will be provided free of charge and back to school examinations will be offered for $20.

Screenings and dental examinations are required for all children in kindergarten and ninth grade in the state of Iowa; the health centre is offering a discounted rate to help parents who are struggling to afford the compulsory health check for their children; the one-off price will be available on the 18th August between 4pm and 9pm.

The Greater Sioux Community Health Center is opening its doors to all children in the local area, regardless of their financial background; those who are uninsured and children covered by Medicare and Medicaid will be more than welcome.

The event is being held to celebrate National Health Center Week; patients who are interested in attending should contact the centre directly for further details. Spanish interpreters will also be on hand during the event.
