A young dentist from Shrewsbury is settling back into life at The Dental Spa after taking a year-long sabbatical to work in Australia.

Emily Wright joined the team at the practice, which is located on the Oxon Business Park in 2009 after working in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. After working at the practice for two years, Emily decided to take the opportunity to travel and work in Australia, swapping Shrewsbury for Sydney.

During her time in Sydney, Emily commuted from Manly, reaching the surgery she worked at by ferry and passing the iconic Sydney Opera House everyday. After a 6 month placement, Emily decided to make the most of her time down under and travelled to the Great Barrier Reef, Western Australia and Ayers Rock before making the short trip to New Zealand, where she was fortunate to be caught up in the hype surrounding the Rugby World Cup. From New Zealand, Emily travelled to South America, visiting Chile, Bolivia, Peru and Argentina.

Emily has since returned to the UK and is back into the swing of things at The Dental Spa. She said that her travels were among the most amazing experiences of her life, but added that it was nice to back in Shrewsbury and to be part of the team again.
