Shocked Customer Finds Human Tooth In Premium Sausages

A Tesco customer revealed his shock after finding a human tooth in a pack of premium sausages. Tony Hind made the discovery back in August after starting to make homemade sausage rolls for his birthday.

The human tooth was found, complete with a silver filling, in the packet of Finest pork and chive sausages. When Mr Hinds complained to Tesco they offered him £15 worth of vouchers and claimed the tooth was a piece of bone. After Mr Hind protested further and the store confirmed there was in fact a tooth in the sausage, this compensation was increased to £25.

Mr Hinds’ partner, Lauren Gooch, made the discovery after opening up the packet. At first she thought it was a piece of gristle but on closer inspection found it was in fact a human tooth. The pair agreed to meet staff at the store where they had bought the sausages and an incident report was filed.

Tesco sent a letter of apology and a £15 voucher, but this was refused by the couple who sought further action. The supermarket chain eventually accepted it was a human tooth and offered another £10.

In a statement, Tesco said that they were sorry for any inconvenience but insisted the tooth was not there when the delivery was made to the Sheerness store. They insisted that rigorous testing processes are in place and the metal would have been picked up by a metal detector.

Mr Hinds said his partner felt physically sick after the discovery and criticised Tesco for failing to acknowledge there was a tooth in the pack of sausages. He went on to say that £25 was pitiful compensation, but insisted he was more concerned with the way the matter had been managed.

The story emerged shortly after Tesco was criticised for using horse meat in their burgers.
