A troubled dentist that was suspended from work for four months is set to meet hospital bosses to discuss his future.
A tribunal heard last month how dentist Tariq Drabu, 44, had a nine-year affair with a dental nurse and later attempted to force her out of her job.
The disgraces dentist was said to have fondled the nurse and even questioned sedated patients about their sexual experiences, the tribunal heard.
The Manchester Dental Hospital where Tariq Drabu worked once a week training dentists now wants to question him about his behaviour.
Despite the allegations Mr Drabu’s work was not criticised and he is expected to continue work in November at the Langley Dental Group practice in Middleton when his suspension ends.
A spokesperson from the Manchester Dental Hospital, where Mr Drabu works, said: “A meeting has been arranged with Mr Drabu.”
Mr Drabu, who is still on holiday, is currently in the process of agreeing compensation with the dental nurse he tried to force out of work, Paula Jackson, of whom was also the practice manager at the surgery Mr Drabu worked.
His affair with Mrs Jackson began in September 1999 and eventually ended last year when Mr Drabu offered the dental nurse £26,000 to quit her job and later upped his offer to £100,000 if she quit and left her husband.
His conduct was deemed unprofessional, inappropriate and not in the best interests of patients by the General Dentist Council panel.
Barbara Duffer, chairperson of the GDC panel said: “The tribunal had no doubt in deciding that such conduct betrayed your profession and was plainly not in the best interest of your patients and was such that it could have brought the profession into disrepute.”
Mr Drabu is said to be meeting hospital bosses when he returns from his holiday.
