Shaky economy hurts dental care

Sample News Big

Dental care and good oral health can reduce future dental expenditures. However, during these hard financial times, going to the dentist isn’t a priority. Money worries may not be the cause, so says one study. The cause may be worrying about losing a job and not being able to find new work. This is a big distraction. During these stressful times, dental care may be completely ignored. Loss of a job, or an uncertain future, for someone or their spouse, leads to preoccupation with other things, and dental care is usually not considered important. For every ten thousand people that lost jobs, there was a 1.2 – 5.95 percent decrease in dental visits in Seattle and Spokane, Washington, respectively.
