Second Mobile Dental Unit To Hit The Roads Of Oklahoma

Delta Dental of Oklahoma Oral Health Foundation and Oklahoma Dental Foundation have announced the launch of a second dental van.

The mobile unit, which will hit the roads of Oklahoma in the near future, will enable more children to access affordable dental care.

John Gladden, president of Delta Dental of Oklahoma, said that there are thousands of people, including children, in Oklahoma who have dental problems but no means of getting the treatment they need because they don’t have insurance or the money to pay for treatment. Delta Dental is working with the Oklahoma Dental Foundation to provide relief for these people and increase access to affordable dental care in the state.

MobileSmiles Oklahoma will now employ two mobile units, with visits organised and coordinated by non-profit organisations, churches, schools and health agencies; visits will be scheduled and appointments organised for children who are in need of treatment.

Mr Gladden said that cost is a barrier to many people and the second mobile unit will enable more patients to benefit from affordable dental care.

The new dental van will start touring communities this week, with the first three destinations confirmed as Norman, Coalgate and Ada.
