Runcorn dental practice has new owner as dentist prepares for well-earned retirement

The owner of a Runcorn dental practice is looking forward to a well-earned break after selling the practice he has run since 1989.

Dr Shailesh Kotecha opened Halton Lodge Dental Surgery in Runcorn over 30 years ago and established a reputation for providing high-quality family dental care. During his tenure, the practice grew and became an integral part of the community.

When Dr Kotecha was ready to sell, he appointed the team at Christie & Co to handle the process. The practice has now been sold to first-time buyer, Hassan Anwar, for an undisclosed fee.

Alena Ray, director at Christie Finance, was part of the team that helped the buyer to secure the funding to acquire the practice. She said that the acquisition was an exciting landmark for Hassan, especially “in the midst of a volatile funding market” and wished him every success in the future as he takes the reins at Halton Lodge.

Fellow director at Christie and Co, Jonathan Watson, said that he was delighted that the process was now complete and that Shailesh could enjoy a well-deserved retirement. There were several parties interested in the practice, including many first-time buyers looking to take charge of their own practice. Although there are challenges in the dental industry, he added, the demand for mixed NHS and private practices is high.

Dr Kotecha will now be stepping away after more than 30 years of treating patients in Runcorn and Halton.
