The Royal Navy has launched a new recruitment drive for dental professionals.

The Navy is looking to add more dentists, dental nurses and dental hygienists to its ranks as part of a major recruitment drive. There are a number of positions available, including several postings that involve overseas deployment.

The Ministry of Defence has loosened entry requirements for Royal Navy applicants. Under new guidelines, candidates from Commonwealth countries no longer have to be UK residents to apply.

Roles that are currently available in the Roya Navy include dental officers, dental nurses and hygienists. There are opportunities both in the UK and overseas. On larger ships, including warships, facilities include operating theatres and hospital-style wards. On smaller vessels, teams will operate portable dental units. Post-graduate study can be undertaken and successful candidates will receive six weeks of paid holiday per year.
