Retired Cirencester Dentist Launches New Invention to Help Patients Use Inter-Dental Brushes

A retired dentist from Cirencester has launched a new invention to help dental patients use inter-dental brushes.

Inter-dental brushes are an increasingly popular alternative to flossing. They are small, hand-held brushes designed to clean the tiny cracks between the teeth. There are various sizes available, which are colour-coded. Retired dentist Chris Turner decided to create a new, computerised chart known as Spacemark Dental to help people select the appropriate brush. He came up with the idea after receiving numerous questions from patients about the brushes during his career as a dentist. The aim is to eliminate any confusion related to choosing the right brush and to enable patients to use the brushes effectively.

Chris, who used to run Cotswold Dental Specialist, started working on the invention in 2010 before he retired in 2011. He wanted to provide answers for patients and enable them to use a wider range of brushes. Many patients may be advised to use just one or two brushes to make life easier, but the reality is that using more brushes may provide a deeper clean. With the chart, they can do this without worrying about which brush to use.

The Spacemark Dental chart can be used by both dentists and patients.
