Report reveals positive steps for Scottish dentistry

The Scottish Health Survey has shown that that nation is making positive steps in the field of dentistry.
The survey found that three-quarters of Scottish adults rated their general health to be very good or good.
Dentistry.co.uk talked to Nicola Sturgeon, cabinet secretary for health and wellbeing, who said the figures showed that people north of the border we beginning to make the link between lifestyle and good health.
Ms Sturgeon added that the amount of adults smoking was decreasing and more people were making positive steps to increase the amount of exercise they took.
The report also found that alcohol consumption remained high which was taking its toll on the NHS, police and other public sector services.
“The Scottish Government is investing almost £120 million over three years in tackling alcohol misuse,” added Ms Sturgeon.
The Scottish Health Survey, which is designed to provide results to the NHS, is now being run annually.
