Queensland dental positions not being filled

Sample News Big

Health authorities are failing to tempt dentists to the Fraser Coast and Wide Bay areas, with several vacancies for senior oral health staff not being filled.

Australia suffers from a national shortage of dentists and more remote regions are worst-affected; as a result of these shortages, waiting lists are increasingly long and patients are becoming increasingly disgruntled.

Representatives from the Queensland Health Board say it is extremely difficult to recruit dentists to certain areas and are looking into ways to increase the number of dentists working in the area. It is hoped that the new dental clinic planned for the Fraser Coast would help to attract more staff to the area.
