Protecting your Future Health with Dental Stem Cells

Sample News Big

Dental stem cell banks are now being set up, to help the fight against periodontal disease, cancer and heart disease, as well as being used to grow new teeth and bones.

Dental stem cells can be taken from the pulp of milk teeth and wisdom teeth and between 20-40 percent of these cells are able to redevelop millions of new cells to be used in treatment involving bones, muscles, livers, nerves, hearts and corneas.

The sources of dental stem cells is dental pulp and to ensure it is at a stage of high usability it must be taken while it still has a bloody supply. When taken from a milk tooth, the extracted tooth is already loose and ready to fall, while in the case of wisdom teeth, the pulp can be extracted whenever the patient comes in for a removal.

The pulp can then be stored for a period of 21 years and is a good option for ensuring future health, as the medical community continues its advancement in the use of stem cells.
