The West Thurrock branch of Procter and Gamble has donated more than 8,000 toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste to encourage children to brush up on oral hygiene.

P&G have given away toothbrushes and toothpaste to local schoolchildren over the past two weeks to encourage them to take good care of their teeth and gums and keep dental decay at bay. Representatives from the company visited Gateway Academy and Primary Free School to hand out the dental kits.

Paul Wilson, Community Matters coordinator, said that P&G has a long term commitment to the community and the West Thurrock Community Matters team is focusing on improving children’s dental health, a very important issue.

Debbie Bull, principal at Gateway Academy, said that everyone at the school is very grateful for the donation from P&G; she added that both schools consider health a very important issue and the staff team supports any measure or scheme, which promotes healthy living and lifestyle habits.
