Chart-topping star, Post Malone, has been showing off the staggering results of a $1.6 million dental makeover.
The 25-year-old, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, has invested over a million dollars on a brand new smile, which features a new set of 28 ceramic restorations in addition to two bespoke diamond fangs. The rapper is well-known for his distinctive tattoos and his new smile has hit the headlines across the world.
The dental work, which comprised complex restorative, clinical and design elements, was undertaken by cosmetic dentist, Naoki Hayashi, Ultimate Styles Dental Laboratory, well-known celebrity dentist Thomas Connelly and Isaac Bokhoor and the team at Angel City Jewelers.
Dr Hayashi created the ceramic teeth before moving onto the diamond crowns, which were designed and placed by Dr Connelly. Dr Connelly had never fitted a whole diamond tooth before and he researched the project extensively, conducting trials for over a year to achieve the perfect result. Talking to Rolling Stone about the unique proposition, Dr Connelly said it was extremely difficult to cut into a diamond without destroying them and throughout the process, there was a lot of waste, with around 40 carats used to create the custom teeth. The diamonds were sourced from Belgium and cut in Israel.
In an interview in 2020, Post Malone discussed his tattoos, explaining that his face tattoos can often help him feel more confident.
