Portman Dental Care celebrates major milestone after acquiring its 150th practice
One of the UK’s largest dental providers has reached a major milestone after acquiring its 150th practice.
Portman Dental Care now runs 150 dental clinics across the country after adding The Dental Surgery, Corn Exchange London, to its portfolio. The surgery is the chain’s 15th practice in London.
Lead clinicians at The Dental Surgery, Corn Exchange, Dr Shaun Smith and Dr Simon Nocton, have expanded the business over the last 25 years. The practice offers a diverse range of services and it has an established client base. The dentists decided to sell to enable them to focus on patient care and treatment. Joining the Portman group will allow the team to concentrate on treating patients and establishing relationships while ensuring that the business side of running the practice is taken care of. The duo will continue to work at the clinic alongside Portman Dental Care staff to allow for a wider range of specialist dental services.
Dr Nocton said that selling the practice had not been an easy decision, but it seemed like the right thing to do once conversations with Portman Dental Care began. Dr Nocton and his partner, Dr Smith, wanted to join a company that shared the same values and it soon became obvious that Portman Dental Care was the right fit for The Dental Surgery, Corn Exchange. Since meeting with representatives and closing the deal, Dr Nocton said that he has met many “amazing” people at the firm.
Andy Sloan, business development director at Portman Dental Care, said that the team was “thrilled” with the acquisition of The Dental Surgery and also incredibly excited to hit such a momentous milestone with the chain’s 150th practice.
