A brave dental team from Portadown is preparing for a skydive to raise funds for children with cancer.

The team from mydentist will be taking to the skies in September to raise money for the Cancer Fund for Children. The challenge is set for September 23rd.

Eight of the mydentist team will be jumping from 15,000 feet to raise vital funds for the charity, which supports children who have cancer and their families. Louise Ferguson has managed to persuade her colleagues to join her on the charity skydive to generate funds for a charity that is very close to her heart. Louise has already done one jump and wanted to raise more money after losing her sister-in-law to cancer. Her sister-in-law had always supported the charity and asked her family to continue raising funds after she died.

The practice has undertaken several fundraising activities in the past, but this is a challenge like no other. Louise said that her colleagues were keen to get involved after hearing about the charity at work and this was a feat that they thought people would really get behind. Many of the jumpers suffer from a fear of heights or flying, so this will be an incredibly difficult but rewarding experience, and hopefully, they will raise huge sums for the fund.

Louise said that patients and friends and family members had already given generously but urged anyone else who would like to support the team to get in touch. More information about the Cancer Fund for Children is available at https://cancerfundforchildren.com.
