A dental practice in Poole has reopened after undergoing major renovation work.

The Mydentist clinic is now open for business again following a £650,000 expansion and modernisation project. The existing practice in Commercial Road has merged with a new site on Parkston Road to increase the number of surgeries from five to eleven. Practice manager, Laura Teuber, cut the ribbon on Wednesday 22nd June to declare the new and improved centre open.

CEO of mydentist, Tom Riall, who attended the opening evening, said that the project had “taken a lot of hard work” but it had paid off because word will now spread about the facility, which he described as a “great practice.”

The expansion of the practice will increase capacity in the area. Although the clinic is only taking on private patients, mydentist is offering an affordable service through its My Options offer. Laura Teuber explained that the aim is to make private dental care more accessible by reducing fees. There have been hardly any NHS places available in the area since the start of the pandemic and mydentist is offering an alternative that will enable more people to access regular dental appointments.

My Options is not an NHS service, but it offers lower rates than most private services. The cost of a check-up can reach £99 in the area but at Poole’s new look mydentist practice, patients will pay £39 for a private check through My Options.

The renovation has also created easy access for wheelchair users and patients with reduced mobility. Free parking is available at the site.
