Police arrest woman for running unlicensed dental practice
Police have arrested a woman who was running an unlicensed dental practice from her home.
Martha Gabi Ardilla-Ramirez, a 49 year old woman who originally comes from Bogota, Columbia, was arrested on Wednesday following suspicions relating to the number of people coming in and out of her house. Local residents had noticed that a large volume of people were entering the house and contacted police; an investigation started around six months ago.
When police went to the 49 year old’s home in Lake Forest Court, Roswell, they found dental instruments and potentially dangerous drugs. Ms Ardilla Ramirez has now been charged with possession of harmful drugs and practising without a valid license.
The incident comes just weeks after Sandy Springs police arrested and charged a man in connection with a similar offence. Omar Mohamed Abou Ghaouche was arrested by an undercover police officer, who posed as a patient; he was offered treatment for a cavity for $100. Mr Abou Ghaouche was charged with practising without a license.
