Plans to expand a dental practice in East Cleveland have been given the green light.

Planning officers at Redcar and Cleveland Council have approved proposals submitted by Dr Shahid Mansoor from Skelton Dental Practice. The surgery, which is located in Skelton Street, occupies an end terrace property.

Dr Mansoor applied for planning permission to add an extension to the back of the premises. The proposals outline plans for an enclosed courtyard on the ground floor and a first-floor extension, which will enable the clinic to create new treatment spaces.

Representatives from the council agreed that the project would not have a negative impact on traffic, the neighbouring properties or access to or views across the nearby conservation area.

The Skelton practice has been running for 30 years and has an established client base. Extending will create more usable space for the team and offer patients access to modern, purpose-built facilities.

Skelton Dental Practice offers a wide range of services, including family and general dentistry, orthodontics and cosmetic services, such as tooth whitening.
Building work is expected to commence soon.
