Plans to create a new NHS dental surgery in Brackley have been submitted to South Northants Council.

Dentalcare Ltd, a firm based in Berkshire, has submitted plans to convert a house in Brackley into a new surgery; number 2 Bridge Street has been empty since 2009. The building was previously owned by South Northants Council.

The planning application contains proposals to convert the ground and first floor into three treatment rooms, a waiting area, a reception area, staff and patient toilets and a sterilisation room. The remainder of the first floor and the second floor will be converted into flats.

A statement attached to the application said that Brackley has been identified as an underserved area by NHS Northamptonshire.

Dentalcare Ltd already works with the NHS and the firm is working in partnership with NHS Northamptonshire to provide good access to NHS services for local patients.

A decision on the future use of the building will be made by the council’s planning committee on a date to be decided in the near future.
