Plans submitted to convert former nursery into dental practice in Gomersal

Plans to convert a former children’s nursery into a new dental practice in Gomersal have been submitted to the local council.

The premises in Oxford Road were formerly occupied by Gummy Bears Nursery. If the proposals get the green light, the property will be converted into a new private dental practice. Gomersal Dental Lounge will provide general dentistry and specialist restorative dentistry. The application has been put forward by West Yorkshire based dentist, Moussa Sadek.

If planning officers approve the application, the property will undergo extensive renovation work to create two fully equipped treatment rooms, a decontamination suite, a reception and waiting area, bathroom facilities and office space. The project, including the purchase of specialist dental equipment, will cost in the region of £80,000.

If the plans get the go-ahead, the surgery will open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays with weekend appointments available on Saturday mornings from 9am until 12.30pm.

There is currently a shortage of dentists in West Yorkshire. If Mr Sadek’s application is successful, the opening of a new private dental practice could help more patients to see a dentist on their doorstep. Further details about treatments, services and fees will be released in due course if planning officers approve the plans.
