Plans have been confirmed to open a new NHS dental surgery in Penzance, Cornwall.

The Chapel Dental Practice in Camborne has agreed to open a new office in Penzance, which will create thousands of new NHS dental places.

The new practice, which will be located close to the rail station on Market Jew Street, is set to open in November and will provide an additional 2,800 NHS dental places in Penzance. The practice will also be close to the bus station, making it easily accessible for people from the surrounding villages.

The Chapel Dental Practice has already made an agreement with NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly to take patients currently on the waiting list. The 560 patients will be contacted by the NHS trust and advised of the new places available at the Penzance dental office.

NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly has advised anyone who wishes to register with a dentist in Penzance to call 01726 627990. The trust will pass on patient details to the new practice.

News of the practice will be welcomed by local people, after concerns were raised over access to NHS dental care. The new surgery will eliminate the waiting list and enable the residents of Penzance to get the treatment they need without having to travel to other towns.
