Plans to create a new, state of the art health centre in Warrington have been given the green light.

Permission for the new centre had been withdrawn after NHS Warrington exceeded its budget; however, the centre has now been given the go ahead after the investment was approved by NHS North West.

The new Garven Place facility will host a variety of different departments and offer patients a range of services, including out of hours GP services, a sexual health clinic, dental services, a pharmacy and district nursing services.

John Gartside, chairman of NHS Warrington, said that the news was very positive. He believes that the new health centre will make a massive difference to local people.

The development will cost around 7.1 million pounds and the annual costs of keeping the facility open are expected to be in the region of £880,000.
