Pittsfield Dentist Celebrates Thanksgiving By Offering Free Treatment
A Pittsfield dentist celebrated Giving Tuesday, which falls just after Thanksgiving, by offering one of her patients free dental treatment.
Dr Natalya Yantovsky came across Giving Tuesday when browsing the Internet with her husband and she decided to offer free dental treatment to a patient who has helped her in the past and since suffered poor health.
When Dr Yantovsky saw that Michael Buffi had an appointment on the 3rd December, she decided that she was going to do something to help him; he was a roofer and he helped to rebuild the roof of the dental office when Dr Yantovksy relocated from Elm Street to East Street. Since then, Buffi has suffered a back injury and he has been unable to work since December last year.
Dr Yantovsky said that Mr Buffi has had a very hard year and it seemed the right thing to do to provide his treatment free of charge, considering the work he has done to help her in the past.
Dr Yantovsky said that she likes the idea of Giving Tuesday and hopes that other local businesses will support it in the future as a means of helping people out in the run-up to the festive season.
Mr Buffi said that he was hugely grateful for the treatment, as he has been unable to smile for a long time due to poor oral health. He has also lost a lot of weight and suffered poor general health in the last 12 months and this gesture was a real blessing.
