A Salt Lake City man who allegedly practiced dentistry illegally for more than 10 years has been arrested.

Reports suggest that Daniel Vasquez practiced dentistry from his home without a license, administering anesthesia and performing operations.

The Utah Attorney General’s Office arrested Vasquez, 40, as part of an investigation into 10 counts of violation of a license to dispense and illegally possessing controlled substances.

According to jail documents, Vasquez told investigators that he had practiced dentistry from his house for around 10 years; he has lived in Utah for the last five years.

It was discovered that the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing never awarded him a dental license.

The jail booking records also revealed that detectives discovered dental equipment, anesthesia and xylocaine during a search of Vasquez’s home, which claims he used to perform dental procedures.
