An 84-year-old man left a hoax bomb outside a dental surgery because of a grudge.

Peter Henry McShane, from Pembroke Dock, ran a campaign of hate against Bush Street Surgery for three years culminating in planting a fake bomb outside its doors.

The pensioner also superglued the clinic’s locks and stole a brass plaque which had been fixed to the outside of the building after he was wrongly charged £183 for treatment.

Despite the money being refunded McShane began attackin

g the surgery in various ways and left the ‘bomb’ on 15 February 2010.

Experts had to be called to deal with the bomb, which was actually a box wrapped in a black bag with a brick and a clock inside it, and local houses were evacuated.

McShane was among the evacuees and reportedly considered telling officers that the bomb was a fake but decided against it.

He has been released on bail and will be sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on  9 April 2010.
