Pennine Care NHS Trust has launched new dental technology in dental surgeries in the North West. The new electric signature technology is designed to enable patients to sign on tablets, replacing traditional paper forms.

Using eSignature enables the immediate transfer of a patient’s signature to electronic records, eliminating the need for paper forms and scanning. A patients simply signs using a mobile device or tablet.

Pennine Care NHS Trust has confirmed that the technology is now available at NYE Bevan House, the Whitehall Street Clinic and the Pheonix Centre. Clinical director of the dental department trust, Richard Valle-Jones, said the introduction of new technology will make the system more efficient and consistent. It will be simpler for patients and more effective for dentists, as they will have immediate access to accurate information. This will help to improve customer care. It will also have a positive impact on the environment, as the software replaces paper forms.

Patients who are registered at the surgeries will be guided through what to do when they go for their next appointment.
