Sample News Big
Dr John Attenborough, the highly regarded dental technician who recently received an award in recognition of ‘outstanding service to dental technology’, has died at the age of 83.
John Attenborough was the son of Mr L.E Attenborough, the founder of Attenborough Dental in Nottingham. Dr. John Attenborough’s illustrious career spanned several decades and he contributed over 50 years of service to the Attenborough Dental organisation. Just last year he was awarded the E.A.Dennison prize, a prestigious reward presented to only the most deserving in the industry.
Attenborough’s work was primarily focused on improving the techniques and materials used to enhance the appearance and general health of the mouth; this work included the replacement of acrylic crowns with lighter, more aesthetically pleasing porcelain alternatives and the introduction of more satisfactory bonding methods for the fixation of crowns. In addition to his work, Attenborough was a keen gardener, fisherman and skier; he founded the Peak Ski club in 1963.
Attenborough Dental remains a family business and is currently managed by Edward Attenborough, Dr John Attenborough’s son. The mission, to provide optimum dental services by means of superior quality and value, remains the same.
