An orthodontic chain, which is expanding rapidly, is set to open a new clinic in a former dry cleaning store in Glasgow.

The owners of Smile 2 Impress, which has clinics across Spain and the UK, have requested permission to change the use of premises in Mitchell Street in Glasgow city centre. If the plans are approved, the clinic will open from 9am until 6pm from Monday to Thursday.

Smile 2 Impress already has several clinics in Spain, as well as practices in Manchester, London and Birmingham. There are plans to expand further with the new clinic in Glasgow in the pipeline and dental centres set to open in Leeds and Liverpool soon.

The private dental chain specialises in orthodontics, offering clear aligners for patients who are looking for discreet, fast treatment options at affordable prices. Clinics offer finance options to enable individuals to spread the cost of treatment, making invisible braces more accessible.

If plans for the Glasgow clinic are approved, the practice will hire three part-time dentists, four full-time dental nurses, a clinic manager and four members of staff to create a sales team.

The unit in Mitchell Street has been vacant since 2018. Comments on the planning application are open until July 4th and a decision is expected by July 22nd.
The demand for clear braces has increased in the last decade, with a surge in interest during the pandemic.
