A dental duo responsible for transforming dental care in Orkney has agreed a new deal with Scottish chain, Clyde Munro.

Scott and Amy Tulloch brought accessible NHS dental care to the island when they launched Orkney Dental. Previously, there had been a 15-year gap, when patients were only able to access NHS services in hospital. The daring duo established the practice, which now spans three surgeries and has a team of 30 members of staff, with a view to making NHS treatment available to all. Now, they have agreed a deal with Clyde Munro, which Amy suggested will secure the service for many more decades to come.

Amy, 34, said that she is amazingly proud of what the practice has already achieved, but the real goal is to ensure that people living in Orkney are able to access NHS treatment for years to come. Before Orkney Dental was established, the service was largely limited to emergency dental care, with patients travelling for routine treatment. Now, patients are able to see a dentist on their doorstep, and this has made a massive difference. According to Amy, by teaming up with Clyde Munro, the couple are doing their bit to “safeguard dentistry.”
