Online dental lab certificate launched
You can now earn a professional certificate in dental laboratory technology thanks to a new online program.
Established by the America’s National Board for Certification (NBC), the new program gives dental technicians the chance to verify their abilities in specific areas of restoration dentistry manufacturing.
Participants can gain a Certificate of Competency in 12 modules from five special subjects including ceramics, crowns and bridges, partial dentures, orthodontics and full dentures.
To earn the certificates technicians will have to pass a series of practical and written exams as well as meeting other criteria.
These exams can be taken in the lab in which the candidate is based. For the written exams, an independent individual will administer the process at any location the candidate chooses.
With the practical exams a dentist or Certified Dental Technician must verify that the candidate finished their work before submission via mail.
