A dental team based in Wymondham, near Norwich, has collected more than one hundred easter eggs to donate to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

The staff at Peppermint Dental Care launched an Easter appeal for patients at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) and the response was overwhelming. Within days, the team had a large collection of chocolate eggs and there are now over 100 eggs ready and waiting to be passed on to chemotherapy patients.

Staff at the dental practice reached out to patients, colleagues and local businesses in a bid to secure as many eggs as possible for the appeal. The hospital provides chemotherapy for around 70 patients per day and the team wanted to spread smiles at Easter. The cause is close to the team’s hearts.

Undergoing chemotherapy can be emotionally and physically draining and many patients experience unpleasant side-effects as a result of treatment. The team wanted to make the time spent in hospital that little bit easier. Everyone has been working hard to spread the word and encourage patients and residents to get involved.

The practice collected donations up until Monday April 11th and representatives will be transporting the giant haul of eggs in the coming days. The practice team is always looking for ways to support the local community and with Easter coming up, this is a fantastic way to make people smile and let patients know that the staff and patients at Peppermint Dental Care are thinking of them.

Staff thanked everyone who has donated edible delights for their support. They will be updating those who contributed to the appeal in the days ahead.
