Norwich dental practice to add new surgery

A Norwich dental practice is set to add a new surgery to enable the team to hire a third dentist.

The owners of Newmarket Road Dental Clinic have got the green light to convert a flat above the existing practice into a new surgery. The expansion will increase capacity following a surge in the demand for services.

The planning proposal outlined internal changes to the building, which would convert living space into the new surgery. The development will allow for a third dentist to join the team, enabling the practice to take on more patients. No changes will be made to the outside or parking areas.

Norwich City Council has approved the plans and stated that work must be completed within three years. There were no objections to the project during the public consultation period, which ended on April 14th.

The clinic, which offers private dental care, currently has no availability for new patients, according to its website. Adding the extra surgery at the premises will enable the practice to offer new patient places.

News of the development will be welcomed by residents. There is a severe shortage of dentists across East Anglia and patients are struggling to make appointments. Although private dental services are not affordable for all patients, the team at Newmarket Road Dental Clinic said that there has been a spike in the demand for services at the practice, which prompted the expansion plans.

Work on the practice is expected to begin soon.
