Norwich dental nurse aiming for marathon glory to raise money for charity

A dental nurse from Norwich is taking on a grueling challenge to raise money for charity; Lisa Webster, 27, is gearing up to run five marathons in five days in a bid to raise funds for Mind, a charity, which supports people with mental health disorders.

Lisa has been training hard for the challenge, which involves five 26-mile runs along Marriot’s Way, which stretches from Alysham to Norwich. The marathon relay will see the 27 year old dental nurse running between the two towns on five consecutive days. Lisa only ran her first marathon at the beginning of the year, but she believes she can do it and is planning to reduce her speed in order to reduce the risk of injury. She has been advised to try and complete the first four marathons in around 6 hours and will keep to a steady pace.

The marathon relay is not the only challenge Lisa has set herself; she has already completed two endurance tests and is planning to do a 24-hour workout in Chapelfield Gardens this Friday (17th July). The marathon relay will mark the culmination of a busy few months of fundraising; on this occasion, the money raised with go to Mind, but Lisa has chosen a difference charity for each event.
