Children in North Carolina received free oral health presentations courtesy of staff from the Cary Family Dental clinic.

The presentations have been carried out over the last few weeks in various locations across the state, as part of the series of events held to celebrate National Children’s Dental Health Month. The presentations, which were designed to be child-friendly and fun, included games and activities which taught children about the importance of looking after their teeth and gums.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the shows, which they thought were great fun as well as being educational. Getting children involved in oral hygiene from a young age will help them to develop a good oral hygiene routine, which will help to keep their teeth and gums healthy and protect them from decay and gum disease. Oral health conditions are prevalent amongst young children at the moment and more and more children are facing complex operations at an early age.

The staff involved in the presentations took great pleasure in teaching children about good oral health and are looking forward to seeing the positive effects their work will produce in the future. The children now have the information and knowledge they need to be able to brush their teeth properly, eat healthy foods and teach others about the importance of good oral hygiene.
