Nonprofit organisation Delta Dental of Tennessee recently announced a plan to celebrate its forty-fifth anniversary by handing out forty-five grants across the state, naming the initiative “Forty-Five years, Forty-Five grants.”

The organisation was established in 1965 after state legislation, allowing its creation, was passed by the Tennessee General Assembly. Delta Dental of Tennessee helps to promote oral healthcare throughout the entire state and, through its anniversary initiative, it named The Stewart County Health Council as one of the recipients of a grant.

President and CEO of Delta Dental, Dr. Phil Wenk, was quoted as saying; ‘As Delta Dental of Tennessee celebrates forty-five years of success; we are privileged to give back to the community that has supported us. It was a difficult decision. We would have loved to have funded every initiative, but we are proud to announce the forty-five grant recipients today.”

Delta Dental chose the recipients after Tennessee non-profit organisations were invited to apply for the grants. The grants are aimed at supporting oral health and children’s education programmes across the state.
