NHS holds dental drop-in sessions for children in Milton Keynes

Sample News Big

The NHS is inviting parents in Milton Keynes to take their children to free drop-in sessions.

The drop-in sessions are designed to provide free dental care for children who do not have a dentist; the sessions will enable children to undergo a routine check-up and dentists will also take the time to talk to parents and guardians about oral health and oral hygiene. Children will also be given a fluoride treatment; this involves applying fluoride varnish to the surfaces of the teeth. Fluoride helps to strengthen the enamel surfaces of the teeth and protect the teeth against decay.

The next drop-in session will be held at Pebbles Children’s Centre on the 19th January; another session will take place at the Sure Start Children’s Centre in Bletchley on the 26th January.

After their check-up and fluoride varnish treatment, children will be given a pack containing a toothbrush and information about looking after their teeth and gums. Parents will also be given advice about registering with a dentist as well as a list of dental practices currently accepting new patients.
