NHS dental places available in Lancashire

Sample News Big

New dental places have been made available for patients in West Lancashire.

Patients are being invited to register with the Ravat and Ray Dental Care practice, which is located at Ormskirk Hospital. Peter Drury, practice manager, said that patients can contact the surgery directly to register for a place. Mr Drury praised the work of the local NHS trust, as recent investment has enabled thousands of people to see an NHS dentist on their doorstep.

Ravat and Ray Dental Care opened last year; it was part of a 3 million pound investment plan to provide better all-round care for patients at the hospital and those living close to the surgery. The practice offers emergency dental care and has extended hours, including weekend appointments.

Many people still assume that it is difficult to get an appointment with an NHS dentist; however, according to Mr Drury this is no longer the case. In recent years, millions of pounds have been invested in Lancashire and there are now many places available with NHS dentists in the area.

Janice Nicholson, from NHS Central Lancashire, said that waiting list numbers had dropped dramatically thanks to the opening of a number of new surgeries in the region.

Patients who are interested in registering with Ravat and Ray Dental Care are advised to contact the practice directly; those who want to register with other NHS practices can contact NHS Central Lancashire.
