NHS Ashford Prepares Patients For Christmas

Sample News Big

NHS Ashford Commissioning Group is advising local people to stock up their first aid kits and order new prescriptions in advice to ensure that they are prepared for the festive season.

Medical and dental services will be altered over the Christmas period and health bosses are encouraging patients to ensure that they order prescriptions in advance and keep their medicine cabinets well-stocked.

Urgent care leader for the group, Dr Kim Gardner, said that it is best to be prepared to ensure that you can enjoy unwrapping presents and eating Christmas dinner without worrying about driving around to find a pharmacy that is open. Dr Gardner advised patients to check their prescriptions and ensure that they have enough medication over the festive period and encouraged people to stock up on medicine cabinet basics, such as plasters, thermometers and painkillers.

Over the festive period, some pharmacies will be open and patients who require out of hours care are advised to call NHS 111; DentaLine will also be open on 01634 890300 for patients who require urgent dental care.

GP and dental surgeries will be open as normal on Christmas Eve and from the 27th December; surgeries will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
