Newham Dentists on Mission to Improve Oral Hygiene

Sample News Big

Dentists in Newham have been busy over the course of the last four weeks, supporting the annual National Smile Month and trying their best to get local people involved in oral health issues.

Dentist Ann Coveney was keen to spread the key messages of the National Smile Month campaign and visited local supermarkets to hand out leaflets and chat to shoppers about oral hygiene and preventative measures they can take to boost their oral health. Dentists have been running information stalls all over the borough and are hoping that people have taken their advice on board.

National Smile Month is run by the British Dental Health Foundation and takes place every year. This year’s programme ran from the 18th May to the 18th June and focused on three easy steps to enjoy better oral health: brushing twice a day, reducing the amount of sugary foods you eat and seeing a dentist for regular check-ups.

Speaking at one of the many road-show events, Ann Coveney said that often even the most basic changes can make an amazing difference to standards of oral health and following the advice promoted by National Smile Month is really important and beneficial.
