Newcastle United player bites back at teeth bleaching allegations
Newcastle defender Steven Taylor had the last laugh when he referenced tooth-whitening rumours about him in a goal celebration.
Taylor’s teamates have been winding him up about his bright smile suggesting he has his teeth whitened like X factor judge Simon Cowell.
So the England Under-21 international bit back the laddish jibes in comic fashion by making the X factor sign in his goal celebration when he scored first for Newcastle against Plymouth last weekend.
Taylor spoke to the Daily Star about the rumours and his celebration saying he had been getting a bit stick from his team mates who have been calling him Simon Cowell.
He told the paper how his fellow players had been accusing him of having his teeth chemically whitened so he gave it the X Factor sign when he scored,
The Geordie favourite still strongly denies that he has any cosmetic dental treatments and claims he simply brushes with Colgate.
He added that the coaches have been getting at him all week but says they are just miserable because they’ve drunk too much coffee which has made their teeth brown.
